Role
The Scientific Advisory Committee provides scientific analysis, advice and supporting information regarding beef sustainability to the CRSB. The Committee has two main responsibilities, as outlined below.
Oversee CRSB’s research priorities and the National Beef Sustainability Assessment (NBSA), including:
- Oversee the update of the NBSA, including the environmental, land use, social, and economic assessments.
- Communicate research priorities related to the NBSA to researchers.
- Provide a Canadian beef perspective to Life Cycle Assessment methodology and data at national and global levels.
- Monitor industry surveys and providing feedback on questionnaires related to the NBSA.
